Yes, a thousand times yes, and this is what I've wanted to scream at the friends/acquaintances of my family members who've had, or currently have, dementia (altogether my clan has exhibited four different types). There is no lovely private care in one's own home like you see in the movies, unless maybe you're a member of the billionaire class, and even then, as you point out, dementia throws curves that are very hard to see coming. The caregivers who work in memory care have my admiration that they can gear themselves up to show up every day.
