Yep, that lady missed the boat big time. I ended up running a business in what might be the worst possible way — my husband died suddenly and I had to take over his niche woodworking & hardwood lumber business. I was in shock, I had no idea what I was doing, and you bet I made plenty of mistakes. But I owned all of them and I figured that even if I couldn’t mill lumber, I could communicate with my customers, and see that every single one of them got a friendly, personal greeting within 20 seconds of walking into the shop. A whole lot of my eventual success (I sold the business for a profit after 5 years) was due to those two things. They are eminently doable.
