Wow — I thought I was familiar with the signs of a stroke, but your sister's symptoms were much more subtle and gradual than what I've heard described, or what my mother exhibited when she had a massive brain bleed when she was 92. I too have a very headstrong sister (whom I love as you do yours) and I would have reacted much as you did. I appreciate your point that we can't always avoid regret or wishing we had second chances when life throws us those curve balls.
