Wow, did this bring back the 70s like nothing else. I'm still giggling that you worried about being bereft of weed in Eugene. I went to college at what was then Humboldt State in Arcata CA (now Cal Poly Humboldt). It was so crunchy there that even my professors had bowls full of weed on their coffee tables at gatherings, with rolling papers thoughtfully provided. Being THC-averse, I never partook — and in fact refused to eat or drink anything I hadn't made or opened myself. Wild times, those.
