Solid gold advice. NOBODY is immune to making typos, especially on a high-stakes document you've gone over a zillion times. My somewhat foolproof method: if you don't have somebody available to proofread for you, leave the document/query letter/whatever alone for an hour or a day, and then go back and read it out loud. Slowly. It's the best way I know of to catch those little demons by yourself.
