Princella, this list is a huge contribution — and I know it took a lot of work to compile it, so I'm just adding my appreciation and admiration. I've worked in many schools, most of which had small Black student populations, and sadly Black History Month usually meant the same few names you mentioned, being centered and talked about in a fairly cursory way, since not enough time was allotted out of the regular curriculum to encourage teachers to delve into BHM. The result was that Black History Month got little more than a few bulletin boards and a brief nod, as though it's really only something for Black people. I deeply hope that is changing, and your list is a big shining light on that effort.
