Out here in the Wild West, train travel is so sparse and marginally reliable that it's barely an option -- sadly. But we did fly from Boise to NYC and back last week, and we felt fine about it. The masking requirements are strict and endlessly repeated, and the air inside commercial jets is changed out every few minutes, so I had no worries. Also, people were far more mask-observant in NY than in retrograde Boise.
