My husband is also one who has to titrate his dosage of social interaction in order to avoid being drained of energy. This has nothing to do with how he feels about people: he is one of the kindest, most warm-hearted and genuine people you could ever hope to meet. As you point out, he doesn’t need fixing; this is just the way he is. Because we accept and value one another’s differing levels of social energy, we negotiate them successfully. Although I did find a tee shirt recently that I wish had come in his size: it read, “I’m sorry I’m late. I didn’t want to come.” :-)
