I salute you for bringing attention to the fact that dementia is a blanket term with many forms and causes. Sadly, within my extended family we have experienced Alzheimers, Lewey Body, vascular dementia (following a massive stroke), MCI ("mild cognitive impairment" which is not really as mild as it sounds), and the dementia associated with corticobasal syndrome, a very rare, progressive and incurable neurological disease. There's good reason why people are terrified of dementia, but the more we know about it, the better.
