I am among the many owls who have to live under the tyranny of the lark overlords when it comes to my day job. Back — way back, when I didn’t have either a standard schedule or young children — my natural inclination was to keep hours like your current routine. That might have been the last time in my life when I felt rested almost all of the time. Nowadays I give myself a very long runway in the morning, because I’ve learned that’s what it takes to get my brain at all ready to take on the day. And yes, it requires both yoga and coffee.
