Deep thanks for explaining what the bleep a canonical link is — I was afraid it might require use of a mitred hat and a scepter. I often use the "import story" function on Medium to reproduce my pieces in Wordpress, and I see that Medium provides the "originally published" thingie automatically when I do so. So it seems I've been canonically linking (?) without even knowing it.
